1. I was arrested for participating in a major anti-nuclear protest and spent five days in jail.

2. I had a rather wild night on a Greek island in which I made love in an alley, skinny-dipped in the harbor, and belly-danced naked under a streetlamp in a public square (at about 3 a.m. -- *nobody was awake* *disclaimer*).

3. I once waltzed on a New York City subway car.

All of this is old news to long-time friends! But that's all I can think of.

The protest: I went on a bus with my lover, now my husband and we drove all night to Washington. The bus broke down and we were stuck for a while at a truckstop, until they sent another one for us. Got to D.C., went to the massive protest, ate free sprouts, got soaking wet in the rain, camped out at the Musuem of ( I think) Science and Technology, to get dry. My husband-to-be took a nap next to - in an intentional ironic moment -- the exhibit on nucleur energy. I dried my clothes in the bathroom, after hitting the hot air wall hands dryer a zillion times. We met up with a sister and brother of mine, who came down from sailing on the Clearwater -- Pete Seeger's environmental Hudson Bay boat. They went off to see the Smithsonian, but alas, we had to get back on the bus and go home, back to work. I was gone about 24 hours.

Man,when I think of some of those positions for bellydancing now, I can't hardly believe I was able to contort myself like that.

Sounds like good memories! Ah, the adventures of the young.

I have an ironic conclusion to the anti-nuclear story -- I married a nuclear engineer! He never went to work in the field though (might have just a tad bit to do with meeting me...).
