1. I was arrested for participating in a major anti-nuclear protest and spent five days in jail.

2. I had a rather wild night on a Greek island in which I made love in an alley, skinny-dipped in the harbor, and belly-danced naked under a streetlamp in a public square (at about 3 a.m. -- *nobody was awake* *disclaimer*).

3. I once waltzed on a New York City subway car.

All of this is old news to long-time friends! But that's all I can think of.

Heee! Yep, it's all old news. I have never waltzed on the NY subway - we did Western Swing!

Alley!sex is fun.

*g* It's really interesting seeing what some other people have listed.

Heh, you're still awake up there. Sleepless in SB, here. *yawn* Maybe I'm finally getting sleepy, though.

Ooooh, bummer. This is really late for you, in'n'it? Insomnia sucks.

I'm trying to stay awake until my normal bedtime (between 1 & 2am) so that I have some hope of sleeping through the stupid wake-every-hour hormonal perimenopausal thing. I've been averaging 4 hours per night lately, which make Lin a cranky-puss.

*Next morning* Well, I slept in until 9, which is a rare thing for me!

Oh yes, that perimenopausal sleeplessness is *rough* -- I think I'm past that point because I'd almost forgotten about it. I still wake up about twice a night to go to the bathroom, though -- also a bummer. I don't think I've slept straight through the night since Kidlet was born.

I hope you rested well!

My nephew (Rachel's little one) is 15 months, and yesterday she complained she only gets a solid, uninterrupted, 8 hours of sleep about five times a month. I said, "Welcome to your forties! You're doing GREAT on the sleep compared to most women our age." She was not pleased with my news.

I slept WONDERFULLY last night. Okay, I woke up about nine times, but was able to go back to sleep every time. I was horizontal in bed from 1:30am to 11:30am!!! Yay, epic sleep event! I think it was the five mile run that helped. I haven't been exercising, and I think I need that to balance my biochemistry.

Exercise is a big help -- I've always hated it, but I'm getting into much better habits now. It really does help to counteract all the menopause stuff, plus I'm now at the "use it or lose it" stage -- so I'm gonna use it!

YAY for the epic sleep!

I made love in an alley...

Urm.

Had sex in an alley, I can buy, making love... that's a stretch. *GGG*

OK, nope, never done any of that. I've had wild nights on Greek islands, skinny dipped in various locations, been in jail many times (in Cuba, which is kinda par and really doesn't count (o:). I can honestly say, I have never waltzed anywhere.

Heeee! I really debated the "made love" vs. "had sex" and you're too right, it was definitely the latter. I tend to be *so* euphemistic in sexual parlance. I always lean toward the most romantic version. I was really nuts about that guy, for almost four whole days...

Well, maybe you didn't do *exactly* the same stuff in the same place in the same situation, but hoo boy, except for the waltzing, I'd say you're a good match!

I went to a major protest against nucleur power in Washington D.C. back in the dark ages in 1979 or 1980. But I wasn't arrested.

I learned how to bellydance when I was 18, and our class went to a Greek resteraunt, where I belly danced on the stage.

Never made love in an alley.

I like to listen to waltzs. If I've danced a waltz I was faking it all the way round.

Oh, I love the stories this meme uncovers! It all sounds very, very interesting... tell me more.

Alleys are highly over-rated for love-making. *ow*

The protest: I went on a bus with my lover, now my husband and we drove all night to Washington. The bus broke down and we were stuck for a while at a truckstop, until they sent another one for us. Got to D.C., went to the massive protest, ate free sprouts, got soaking wet in the rain, camped out at the Musuem of ( I think) Science and Technology, to get dry. My husband-to-be took a nap next to - in an intentional ironic moment -- the exhibit on nucleur energy. I dried my clothes in the bathroom, after hitting the hot air wall hands dryer a zillion times. We met up with a sister and brother of mine, who came down from sailing on the Clearwater -- Pete Seeger's environmental Hudson Bay boat. They went off to see the Smithsonian, but alas, we had to get back on the bus and go home, back to work. I was gone about 24 hours.

Man,when I think of some of those positions for bellydancing now, I can't hardly believe I was able to contort myself like that.

Sounds like good memories! Ah, the adventures of the young.

I have an ironic conclusion to the anti-nuclear story -- I married a nuclear engineer! He never went to work in the field though (might have just a tad bit to do with meeting me...).

It was! And I was drunk as a skunk on retsina the whole time (which is, of course, what led to it all).

Whew, youth is definitely for the youthful.

*Hugs*

Well, not too likely anymore! Such things are best left to the young. The *really* young... !

I'd certainly love to get back to Greece, though.
