Aww, that was just too easy!
Life here in the SoCal sunshine proceeds apace. We were -- unbelievably -- at Disneyland *again* last weekend, with three of Kidlet's friends in tow, for a very late celebration of her 14th birthday. (This is four times in just over a year for me, and I'm kind of sick of the place.) We learned from last year and got a hotel room across from the park this time; a suite, mind you, so the girls got their own set of rooms through an adjoining door. And Peter and I got to ignore the kids all day and actually enjoy the place on our own, for a wonder -- no sister along to "help out" or nieces to meet up with, or anything. It was weird... but very nice. My favorite part about going there is eating at the Anaheim House of Blues -- yummy, spicy seafood and beer! And my collection of cool HOB t-shirts is growing; they're all sort of retro-hippie, peace&love types, which I adore.
I can't believe it's coming on Thanksgiving already, and the year is winding down. It's going to be a frenetic holiday season, because -- ta da! -- we're going to New York City for the week before Christmas! I haven't been there since I took the Greyhound out in the summer of 1979, and I'm wildly (albeit quietly) excited. Over the years I've had the strangest dreams about going back there, and now it's happening. It won't be the same with Peter and Kidlet in tow -- I hope they'll like seeing it from my point of view *crosses fingers*.
Mmmmm, Friday... I'm tired and sleepy and have to get ready to go to a wedding in San Diego with my sister and niece... and then have to start three new caroling skirts... but really, I just want to snooze. Bzzzzzzzzz...

Way to go! You know not to trust the MS Grammar Check and you know "no" from "know." Now, go forth and spread the good word (or at least, the proper use of apostrophes).

Date: November 28th, 2006 07:21 pm (UTC)*Hugs* back -- I'm still here, even when I'm posting less frequently. See, you stumbled across my humble little journal in the summer, when I'm at my postingest best. I used to always warn my flist that I'd be pretty absent from December to May -- admission and recruitment season for the grad program I work for. I do better keeping up on LJ here at work than I do at home; by the time I get home, I have running around with Kidlet to do, and home things, and then I'm just too done in to do more than read fanfic (usually). *Sigh* But still, I'm here and post when I can. I'll fer sure post before the holidays -- must report on the latest calamities, after all!

Date: November 28th, 2006 07:26 pm (UTC)Anyway, I live in the South Central Coast area (Santa Barbara), so I'm closer to your new location but still not right in the vicinity. There are a few fans in the L.A. area, aren't there?
Hey, I think I saw that Moonridge is gonna happen again this summer -- I better get myself in on the plans this time!
