I think I've done this before... but since it's going around again, well, why not? I just love maps. Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] aerianya.

Er, I think this is fairly accurate. Some of these states I only passed through, or made brief stops at bus depots and such *g* (that's what happens when your dad's in the Navy and you cross the country several times as a kid, or when you buy a Greyhound bus pass good for a month and cross the country alone).

*Wistful* Gor, I love travelling and wish I could do so much more! Some parts of Africa and India are very high on my list, although the United Kindgom and Europe will always draw me. The Caribbean and the Paciic Islands too, and Down Under. I'm not terribly drawn to Asia though. Go figure.

ETA: Oops! Credited the gack to the wrong LJ... fixed it now.

With your Dad in the Navy how on earth did you manage to miss Hawaii and hit Alaska?

LOL -- he was stationed there after the attack on Pearl Harbor, long before I was born. Once we kids came along, I think he requested continental ports - California, Maryland, California, Washington, and Connecticut, before he retired. I'm a true Navy brat, born at the Naval Academy in Annapolis.

As for getting to Alaska -- pure luck, actually. We went on a cruise to Mexico (ha, believing all the ads about how low-cost it could be!), and won another cruise in a bingo game. o.O We chose Alaska for that one. Funny story -- I met about five other families/couples who had won their cruise at bingo!

Wouldn't it be interesting to have Lj people do this without telling us if they were in the military or grew up military brats. I bet we could tell right off if they were either.
I love travel. I hope to be able to hit foreign countries besides Canada and Mexico one of these days.

Hmmm, well yes, perhaps I should have refrained from giving it away. Nah. I'm just too upfront!

And yeah, travel is wonderful. Sad that it's so frequently out of reach due to the high costs *sigh*.
