The Meme of the Day
November 19th, 2004 04:08 pmGacked from
white_trillium and
daisy_gamgee and
magickalmolly, and apparently ubiquitous on LJ today:
My journal is... ShireDancer's Journal, because that's pretty straightforward, and I got tired of trying to find some cutesy or wise or pithy title for it. Once I discovered that I could actually change the title (and I was probably, like, the last person in the online world to figure that out), I tried to be alliterative and all, but WTF does "ShireDancer's Shelf" mean, anyway??? Much better this way.
My subtitle is... "Some musings, some memories, and lots of good-humored chit-chat." Which sounds pretty dorky to me; any better suggestions out there? I think I should at least mention something fannish in it...
My friends page is... Sally's Friends. Yep, I put a lot of thought into that one. *Am hopeless at this kind of thing.*
My user name is... ShireDancer. It's the only one I've ever had (for all two-plus years of my online existence), and I've gotten rather attached to it. Sometimes I wish I'd chosen a better name, but when I first discovered online message boards in the amazing wake of Fellowship of the Ring, the place I found was rife with complicated elf-names. ShireDancer seemed fairly simple at the time.
My default picture/icon/thingie... is a portion of a Pre-Raphaelite painting and was created by EdithGeraldine. My first beloved default icon was my "Whirling Pip" from FOTR, and I still love that one. But although my love and fascination for LOTR (and especially for
daisy_gamgee's THoU) was what brought me to LJ initially, I finally decided that I wanted an icon that represented more of the inner me. I like this picture because I see the woman as being contemplative and thoughtful (or perhaps just tired, which usually fits too), and that's how I want to use my journal -- for my contemplations and thoughts.
