There's a kind of hush...
August 30th, 2004 09:28 amIt's been a quiet week around here -- not much to tell. A week ago I took Kidlet to Disneyland for a couple days with my sister and niece -- a girls' weekend, I guess, and it made a nice change. I finally conquered my fear of Splash Mountain *smile*. I found that if I close my eyes really tight, I can handle that last big drop. And we tried the newest ride, the Tower of Terror in the California Adventure park. Not going to be a favorite on my list, I'll tell you. Free falling 130 feet? Okay, I survived it -- twice -- but I didn't enjoy it. More like an 'I'll prove that I can do this' ordeal.
Otherwise, it's just very quiet at work, very quiet at home. We're gearing up for the start of junior high school -- gee, if I enjoyed shopping, I might actually take Kidlet out to get a couple of school outfits and some school supplies. But I don't enjoy shopping, so Kidlet is out of luck for now. *Sigh* Like it or not, I'm going to have to deal with it sometime this weekend.
Okay, enough fun and frolicking -- gotta get back to work.

Date: August 30th, 2004 11:29 am (UTC)There you are! I've missed you the last week or two, figured it was busy at work. Thought of you a *lot* as I sewed my new harem pants. ;-)
I'm with you, shopping is not an enjoyable process.
Free falling 130 feet? TWICE? I don't know if I want to be you any more when I grow up. I don't think I could do it once.

Date: August 30th, 2004 01:00 pm (UTC)Yeah, sorry, I hadn't realized how long it had been since I posted! I've been caught up in another round of TS addiction lately. You know, if I coud have one wish, it would be that I could manage this whole fandom/fangirl/fanfic thing better. That I could be rational and give myself maybe an hour of reading pleasure each evening, and then *set it aside*. So anyway, since all I've been doing is reading, I've had absolutely nothing to say. Nah, you definitely don't want to be me when you grow up... I think I'm getting more boring by the minute! *wink*
The free fall was just not fun. I like a roller coaster as well as the next fun-loving person, but this was different. Leaves me with too much trepidation.
New harem pants!!! OOOh, what color? How do they look? Are they nice and drapey? Go you! I just realized I completely missed the belly dance weekend here; meant to try some workshops and attend the show. Oh well. Addiction calls...
