Hot hot hot...

The bike ride home was way too hot today (at least for *my* hormonal condition). The ocean was sort of sullenly quiet, covered with a heat haze, and the bit through the slough and widelife sanctuary was airless and stifling; all the critters were in hiding, except the kind of bugs that like to buzz loudly and whir in the heat. It's probably a good thing I'm already getting a little stronger; it would have been pretty tough otherwise.

So it was a good day to start thinking about our trip to Alaska -- two more weeks! Whoot! Looking forward to those glaciers.
