Peter Jackson is wandering around my town even as I speak -- erm, well, write. His picture was on the front page of the newspaper this morning, and all over the weekley entertainment section. He is receiving the Modern Master award at the 19th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday. Why yes, I do have my ticket, thank you. Dragging husband and child along for the ride, too.
If I should happen to run into him in town (which I won't, but if I *should*...), I would say to him, "Thank you for bringing the most wonderful book in the world to life in the most wonderful movie in the world," and I would say it with my whole heart in my eyes. Well, we're in the realm of "what if" here, right? Probably in reality I would be much too shy and tongue-tied to even approach him. And courteous, too, as I don't like the idea of harassing public figures. Much.

Date: January 29th, 2004 05:06 pm (UTC)I agree, though, about the harrassment thing. Still, it's a nice dream. **refrains from express mailing you my LOTR movie guide for PJ and assorted other dignitaries to sign**
