The Return of the ShireDancer

Hullo everybody! I'm back online, I'm off work for two weeks, and I'm *so happy*!!!

And that's a far cry from just three days ago when I was holding on by my fingernails, slogging through mounds of mail in the aftermath of the application deadline, and morosely wondering if there was in fact a holiday season going on, or a Certain Movie opening. I timed myself on Tuesday: I spent a solid two and half hours just opening envelopes. Regular little business envelopes, and big manila envelopes, and big fat Fed Ex packages containing... more little envelopes. Blehhhhhhh... But I endured, and there's some kind of virtue in that, isn't there?

And then there's me, making myself crazy because as soon as I finished work yesterday I flung myself into full Martha Mode, preparing for today's annual holiday lunch that I put on for my co-workers. Cheesy-crab thingies and everything, mmmmm. So this is truly the first free moment I've had, and it feels *sooooooo* good. I get to catch up with y'all now! I've been so wrung out for the last two weeks, I've barely peeked into LJ at all. My backlog of friends' entries should be astonishingly stupendous. I'll try to answer you all, too, and make sure you know I care. Cards shall be forthcoming! The holidays have started at last! Um, is it time to go Christmas shopping now?

And to top it all off, I have tickets... in my hot little hands... for The Movie tonight! I have avoided all spoilers and reviews, I have no idea what's ahead, but I'll form my own opinions, that's for sure. Quiet Squeeage going on here. Can't wait to compare notes with those of you who have seen it. Which is, what, just about all of you, right?

Well. I'm glad to be back, I love you all, and I promise I shall be a force to be reckoned with for the next two weeks.
