A Beginning

Well. Ahem. Should anyone happen by here, welcome to my journal. And since I don't really expect anybody other than Daisy Gamgee to come rambling through, I'll mostly use this to amuse myself and set down some of my musings. (Daisy gets quite enough of my thoughts via email and comments to her LJ so I don't expect quite too many visits there either, but just in case, hello Daisy!) I'm here mainly because of a really *burning* interest in hobbits (read Merry/Pippin) and fan fiction, mostly slash thanks, and so my musings will undoubtedly reflect on that. Sort of a Reader's Comment Page, if you will.

And maybe some fun, too... just as soon as I learn to mess around with pictures and icons and gacking those quiz things that are everywhere on LJ! Oh, and I owe a big smooch to my husband (a really sweet guy) who helped me get this going, because honestly, I couldn't figure out what to do with it. Hey, I've got passion, aesthetics, and a lot of brains, but there just wasn't room left for that technology thing.

So here's my first entry, and my first... gack.

Pippin, or is it Merry??! The two are sort of interchangeable, don't you agree? "You
fool of Took!" Gandalf is often heard saying to this young hobbit. Pippin's foolishness does indeed gets the fellowship into lots of hot water.
Pippin may not be the brightest bauble in the box, but he at least he means well.

And here you are! Yay! Don't worry about the techno stuff, I'm completely hopeless at it, too -- the LJ FAQ is a lot of help but I also rely a lot on the kindness of my friends list. I love the way you phrased it: "Hey, I've got passion, aesthetics, and a lot of brains, but there just wasn't room left for that technology thing." I may just have to gack that line off you! It beats "technochallenged"...

Gack away, Daisy... goodness, it's refreshing to have you borrow some of my words for a change. I'm beginning to sound like M&P all the time now ("Botheration!" "Gor..." "Muck...!").

For the life of me, I can't manage to get you on my friends list -- I keep getting an error message from LJ. Any hints? (And thank you for adding me to yours!)
