A numbered list
July 10th, 2005 12:41 amThis is what's been going on, in a numbered nutshell:
1. Woke up to the bad news on Thursday and was horrified, of course, by what happened. Was able to peek into LJ and various email lists and relieved to hear that all online friends seem to be accounted for. And a big bravo, I say, to the Londoners who are holding forth in customary stiff-upper-lip style.
2. Have spent two Saturdays working on sets for Kidlet's summer-camp production of "Grease" -- today I was out in the hot sun drawing, get this, hot-rod 50s cars on flats! Kidlet didn't get the Rizzo part she coveted, but did get a meaty one -- she'll be Cha-Cha, the rival gangleader's girl who stole John Travolta for the big dance-off.
3. Decided this week to switch offices with my fave co-worker -- makes perfect professional sense, but still a bit nerve-wracking. But after seven and a half years in the same office, I am *so* ready for a change! The Big Switcheroo will be on Tuesday.
4. Will drive a vanful of co-workers down south tomorrow to attend the memorial luncheon for the child who died last week. It will be my first Muslim ceremony. Sorrowful. And I found the loveliest card with a quote from The Little Prince -- it's the bit at the end about the stars laughing. Gor, I hope it won't be too much -- the words alone bring tears to my eyes.
5. Today I created a new journal after all (with thanks to
daisy_gamgee), for my Weight Watchers stuff. Not because I particularly want to segregate my posts, but because the various communities I'd joined were overwhelming my flist. Now I can see y'all's posts better! If you care to see the other, it's -- what else? --
shiredancerww. Haven't actually posted there yet, though. Maybe tomorrow I'll catch up on that.
6. And since I've been so busy, I changed the appearance of my regular journal. It's very pretty and bookish -- check it out!
7. Still to do: finish planning the trip to Oregon, get items for scrapbooking and blue jean projects, and decide on what to crochet on the trip. Learn Italian. Master the guitar. Create world peace. You know, all that stuff. *Grin*
