It's been a quiet week around here -- not much to tell. A week ago I took Kidlet to Disneyland for a couple days with my sister and niece -- a girls' weekend, I guess, and it made a nice change. I finally conquered my fear of Splash Mountain *smile*. I found that if I close my eyes really tight, I can handle that last big drop. And we tried the newest ride, the Tower of Terror in the California Adventure park. Not going to be a favorite on my list, I'll tell you. Free falling 130 feet? Okay, I survived it -- twice -- but I didn't enjoy it. More like an 'I'll prove that I can do this' ordeal.

Otherwise, it's just very quiet at work, very quiet at home. We're gearing up for the start of junior high school -- gee, if I enjoyed shopping, I might actually take Kidlet out to get a couple of school outfits and some school supplies. But I don't enjoy shopping, so Kidlet is out of luck for now. *Sigh* Like it or not, I'm going to have to deal with it sometime this weekend.

Okay, enough fun and frolicking -- gotta get back to work.

Lord of the rings
J.R.R. Tolkien: Lord of the Rings. You are
entertaining and imaginative, creating whole
new worlds around yourself. Well loved, you
have a whole league of imitators, none of which
is quite as profound as you are. Stories and
songs give a spark of joy in the middle of your
eternal battle with the forces of evil.

Which literature classic are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

I was sure I'd get a Jane Austen or Bronte classic, or maybe even Dickens -- but turns out those weren't even options. So am I a creature of the Shire, or *what*???
