Purple Hair!
November 2nd, 2003 11:45 amWhew. Holidays are taking a bigger toll out of me than they used to. And no, I refuse to acknowledge that this might have *anything* to do with age. More with the uncomfortableness of costumes -- yep. By the end of Friday I was *so* longing to yank off those false eyelashes and wash out that sprayed-on hair color. A hot shower was bliss.
But I had fun, I did. In a fit of silliness Halloween night, I... um, I trick-or-treated. And guess what? I learned that if you wear a cool costume, and smile charmingly, and say "trick-or-treat" right with the kids, and stick your plastic pumpkin out... well, lots of people don't care how old you are and cheerfully give you treats! Some even get a real kick out of it! It became sort of a game, to size up the client and see if they were going to go for it or not. Young guys, single guys -- a definite "yes". Older women and older couples, yes again. The toughest customers were the single women closer to my age. Nah, they weren't falling for it -- the charming smile just doesn't cut it there. And of course I sized up the candy bowls too, and didn't venture to beg where the treats were getting low -- can't be responsible for having the kiddies lose out, after all. But I gotta say -- it was *fun*!
And oh yeah, here's ( a pic of me with purple hair. )
ETA: Oh *SHIT*, this picture is *huge*!!! Is there any way I can make this smaller? Without photoshop? Ummm, open at your own risk, I guess...
ETA again: Whew, my husband fixed it. The picture is more or less normal size now. Much better!
