Hmmm, last posted in May 2012. Not bad! The funny thing is, I just re-read that post and could almost post the exact thing over again. Instead of having moved to Isla Vista, Kidlet has moved to West Hollywood (got her double BA in Film & Media Studies and Communication in June). She's busy auditioning and looking for gainful employment -- but we're still paying the rent. (For the first year, anyway.) She has a cat, so I now have a grandkitty.

I never got the management job, but I did move to a new department -- the same Film & Media Studies that Kidlet was in. After three years there, I'll be retiring at the end of June. I feel like I'm about to reboot my life, and I am SOOOO excited.

We still have one aging cat, now 18. We lost Sasha shortly after my last post in 2012, and the bunny lived to be 14 1/2, until last fall. I still miss her.

I drive down to Oxnard two days a week to be with my 95-year-old father. We drive around and explore, and I fix his dinner. He's doing great and still lives on his own, with morning and evening caretakers dropping in.

Peter is still commuting to Valencia, but he gets to come home on Wednesdays and work at home the last two days, so that's a huge help.

So... not much has changed, and yet everything has changed. My social media world is now on Facebook and weekly chats, with a little email thrown in. Once I'm no longer enslaved to the work computer and daily email crush, perhaps I'll be more present in the journal world. Writing is one of my retirement ambitions. Perhaps I'll post again before four years are up! Hugs to all.

*flings herself at your feet*

I've been so absent from chat I'm way behind-hand in knowing some of these things (oh, your bunny; I'm so sorry!). I'm so glad that your father is doing so well and that you can see him often. And that your daughter is embarked on her dreams (with cat; a hugely important part of anyone's dreams, if you ask me :-)).

Hoping your kitty does well for a good long while yet (one of mine stayed with me till she was 20 and a half, which I was so grateful for).

And yay for rapidly approaching retirement! I hope you do take up pen (or keyboard) -- I remember your Sentinel Thursday story a year (or so?) ago, and wishing you would write more, whether it be of fannish nature or something else. (I also vote for more LJ time. :-))

Hopefully I will be able to see you at chat more often again, since my wireless issues are (apparently) sorted out for the time being. (Now I just have to get RL to allow me an even enough keel to be sociable on Saturday afternoons. :-))

Oh, T! ***Hugs*** I love it when we connect. Yes, I do hope to be more present here on LJ soon. And I hope RL gives you a break so you can come to chat -- we miss you there!
