Time flies, and all that jazz.

Oh my. What a blast from the past. I had occasion, just now, to look over my very first journal entries -- people, I have had a LiveJournal for over seven years now! Ancient history! And, get this: I used to post several times a week! *Is in awe*
It, ummmm, makes me want to do it again. Post frequently, that is, and record my thoughts and the day's events, and such. Never have I had such an ongoing tracking of my life, and it's just... really something, to look back on it all.
And lo, here I be a-postin'! Guess I should go on little nostalgia trips more often. But alas, it's almost midnight and school starts up for Kidlet tomorrow. I need to get up at 6 a.m. and get a morning walk in before getting her to school. I hope I'll sleep tonight... fie upon insomnia.
Went to grocery store to stock up on food for Kidlet's breakfasts and lunches... check.
Did laundry for clean school clothes... check.
Got cash for Kidlet's weekly food money... check.
Gave schedule to Kidlet so she'll know where to go... check.
Cleaned downstairs to start on Fall Cleaning (so much better than Spring Cleaning)... check.
Ready to start a brand-new school year... well, I guess. Check!

Date: August 25th, 2008 11:47 am (UTC)WI enacted a mandate a few years back that public schools can't start up until after Labor Day (unless a school district requests and is granted an exception) so the Bugman doesn't start school until 9/2. High School age boys are so much easier to get prepped to go back than high school age girls. He's got a few Chuck Norris folders, is going to allow me to drag him shopping for some badly needed shoes (which he's needed for several weeks now, but shopping?? And not at Best Buy?? forgetaboutit!) and that's it!
Hey! *smooch*

Date: August 26th, 2008 04:59 am (UTC)Kidlet wasn't too much trouble to get in gear this year -- she's so much more independent. She went to Staples after school and found the supplies she needs; I just met her there to pay for them. She's in 11th grade and now she organizes herself pretty well.
Hee, I *so* owe you a whole bunch of comments! I checked out your journal yesterday too, and *OH WOW* I found stories there I didn't even know about. I must comment on each and every one. After I re-read them more slowly. *Woof*

Date: August 26th, 2008 05:02 am (UTC)Yes, seven long years -- my Kidlet was just nine then, and I hadn't yet even heard of The Sentinel or its fans. Amazing!
