Just started the second week of classes and I'm already fried. Utterly, completely, thoroughly done in. This begins my sixth year at this position -- the sixth time going through the cycle of orienting new grads, admitting the next batch, managing the finances, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum. But -- I'm still okay with it, still loving the grad students, still invigorated at our welcome potluck to hear all their plans and goals. I figure I'm definitely good through the first ten years before serious burn-out sets in. And -- wah!! -- I'll still be way too young to retire, even though I'll have been in the frigging workig world for almost four decades with only two years off to finish college (and since it took me, what? Twelve years total to get the damn BA? then those were well-deserved years!).
Well, hmmm. This isn't *really* what I planned to write about, but it'll do. And is it just me, or is "The Emperor's New Groove" truly the funniest thing Disney ever produced? Cronk -- ahahahah!!!
