HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SWEET DAISY GAMGEE!!!!
It was one year ago today that I sent that awestruck email message and a beautiful friendship began:
"... I just have to tell you -- you are an incredible writer. You truly are. Your stories are exquisitely beautiful. . . your work is a treasure indeed -- it just leaves me breathless. The love you have for Merry & Pippin really shines through, and you have brought them to renewed life for me. Thank you so much!"
And you know what, lovie? I still stand by every word I wrote, and I'm still just as amazed and awed by your writing. But even better, I've gotten to know you *pretty* darn well and count you among my dearest friends, and that's even more of a joy. The delight of having been fortunate enough to meet you in person not once, but twice, just overwhelms me (and when will be the next time, I wonder?). I will look forward to our next beer together.
And what a year it has been, eh? It's a very good thing we both like roller coasters so much... I cannot believe how much my life has changed -- or at least the internal workings of it. I can't tell you how much I needed the breath of change that your words brought to me, or how much it felt like coming home. So there you are, Daise -- one year later and I'm still so grateful, for thee and THoU.
LOTS of *LOVE* and *SMOOCHES* and *HUGS* to you from me.

Date: April 28th, 2003 11:48 am (UTC)Was it a year ago already? Wow. Just, wow. Yes, to all you said about the amazing year just past.
If THoU has done *nothing* else, it brought you to me, and for that it's been worth every single word.
*Smoooches* and *huggles* and *CHOCOLATE TOFFEE* and I heart you something fierce. Even though you keep making me cry! ;D
