HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINAELYN!!!

Sweetie, it's a treasure having your companionship here on LJ. May the conversations continue, and may your day be wonderful and bright and filled with all the things you love.

Here at last is the recipe I promised [livejournal.com profile] who_took -- Who, I hope you will like it, and it's also just in time to be a little birthday gift for [livejournal.com profile] linaelyn too. Hee, think I'll present it as if it were a choice piece of fanfiction:

TITLE: Crabmeat Appetizers
AUTHOR: Sally's mom
RATING: PG, for use of broiler
PAIRING: Crab/Cheese!
WARNINGS: Use of funky, artificial 60s-style ingredients follows! If you are squicked by the idea of processed cheese food, do not enter. You have been warned. But damn, they're good.

Crabmeat Appetizers

1 cube margarine
2 6-oz jars Old English Cheese Spread
1 1/2 tsp. mayonnaise
1/2 tsp. garlic powder (or get real and use actual minced garlic)
2 6-oz cans crabmeat, rinsed and drained
1 large Philly cream chease, softened (I think that's 8 oz.)
2 pksg. English muffins

With electric mixer, mix margarine, cheese spread, cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and crabmeat. Split muffins in half and spread with mixture. Arrange on cookie sheet and freeze until solid. Cut into quarters, wrap, and return to freezer. When ready to serve, place muffin quarters under broiler for a few minutes until bubbly and hot. Very convenient to keep a bag in the freezer and broil as needed. They can also be heated up in a microwave.

In other news, I won't be able to join the hobbit-pile tonight (*sob, whimper*) because husband and child are both singing in a voice recital, and dutiful wife and mother must be in attendance. He is singing one from "Camelot" and she is singing one from "Aladdin". My heart will be aglow, despite my bad attitude. Jeez, it feels like about forever since I've actually talked to any of you on chat! Next week will be better, I promise. Much love, all! *SMOOCH*

Oh, yum....

Looks scrumptious! I'll have to try it--maybe instead of a fancy meal Christmas Day. ***hugs***

And I'll miss you tonight! Not sure I'll be here, either, bummer... Enjoy the recital, though!
