Music meme -- moi?

estellongshanks -- ah, Estel! Music is, alas, my weak spot. Not sure you'll gain anything useful or broadening here.
1. Total number of music files on your computer:
Zero. Zip. Nada. I haven't the faintest notion of how to rip a music file. My Kidlet can do it, but not me. I *do* have some downloaded songvids from my two fandoms -- do those count?
2. The last CD you bought was:
Well, three actually, at one of those Borders sales: Steppenwolf/Gold, The Chiffons/One Fine Day, and Cyndi Lauper/Wanna Have Fun. Erm, would you believe I've been in a retro mood lately? Born to be wild, and girls just wanna have fun, and all that.
3. What is the song you last listened to before reading this message:
Let's see, it was the Eric Clapton "Slowhand" CD playing in the car stereo on my way home from shopping... the one about May You Never, something about losing a woman over a knife. See my problem here? I never get the lyrics completely down, or the name of the artist, or the title of the song all together. I have this little blank spot for those kinds of details.
4. Write down five songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you:
Uh. This is where my brain shuts down. Five whole songs? That's what Estel said, and I think I want to quote him. About all I've been listening to is classic rock on my KTYD radio station lately, so I guess if I concentrate...
"Lay Down Sally" by Eric Clapton, because that's *my* song. I love it; I love what it has to say. Don't you think you want someone to talk to?
"Wild World", was that Cat Stevens? That was a theme song for me when I first started out on my life's adventures. If my older lover had been more caring and kind and observant of such things, those might have been his words to me when I left to spread my own wings.
"Four Strong Winds" by Ian & Sylvia; another song that was an anthem of my early days, about love and loss and hopes and uncertainty. When we used to have sing-alongs, my friends liked me to sing that for them, a capella since I couldn't play the guitar. It was something, that they liked it -- because my singing is no great shakes.
"The Power of Two", is that the Indigo Girls? Forgive me if I've got it wrong. I first heard that on one ofmagickalmolly's CD mixes for those of us who attended HobbitCon. It reminds me of my closest LJ friends, my hobbit lasses, as well as my first fandom and Merry and Pippin. It puts me right *there* whenever I hear it. It's the power of friendship, the power of women friends, as well as the power of love.
"You Belong to Me" from the Shrek soundtrack (sorry, I really can't recall who sang it and at 1:30 a.m. I can't shlep over to the car to dig out the CD and check). This one is for my other fandom, The Sentinel -- not only was it featured in one of the episodes, but it's a perfect song to sing about an anthropologist. Well, you kind of have to be *in* the fandom to get it. Great song, anyway -- lovely and lyrical. (As a little aside, I love both Shrek soundtracks -- they have some of the most danceable tunes I've ever heard!)
So there you are, Estel! Oh, and a tip for you, since I know you love Madeleine Peyroux (and turned me on to her, and I have subsequently turned several *other* people on to her) -- you might enjoy the music of Maude (or Maud) Maggart, who is a cabaret singer not yet out on regular CDs -- you have to google her web site and can order CDs from there. She's just a touch reminiscent of Madeleine, but sings older songs from the 20s. Maybe you'll like her.
