So, guess where I'm posting from? Ha, I'm in the cool little coffee joint (the local not-Starbucks) on lower State Street which I haunt while Kidlet is in her jazz dance class. They've gone wireless! So today I thought I'd bring the laptop (which needs a suitable name) and try it out and, hey, it works. *And*, perhaps even more surprising, I figured out how to connect all by my little old self. *Proudly preens* It's an unsecured network which makes me a little bit nervous, but oh well. Lots of people do this, right? Right.
Actually, it's *very* cool here. Not just the music (Bob Marley right now) and the coffee-flavored atmosphere (or perhaps chai-flavored, for me), but the fact that they LEAVE THE FRICKIN' DOORS OPEN all the time -- big, huge warehouse-style doors -- and since it's gone gray and gloomy and chilled, it's cold. Maybe it encourages coffee consumption? Heh.
Anyway, it's fun to report in from downtown. I'll have to do this more often.
