I'm baaaaack.....
August 9th, 2004 03:44 pmWell, so here I am at work again, trying really hard to adjust to this unfortunate turn of events. It seems the older I get and the more I travel along in life and in work, the harder it is to give up my free time to return to the daily grind.
I *missed* my journal on my trip. I kept feeling things, and noticing things, and thinking things, and wanting to record them. Enough so that I bought a notebook in Juneau -- but of course, once it was in hand, the urge left me. Seems I've become accustomed to typing my reflections now, and the handwriting doesn't quite want to jump in. So anyway, over the next several days I plan on recording my belated musings on Alaska.
Because, you see, it was *splendid*. Alaska was never even on my list of places-to-go and was actually chosen as the free-cruise destination by Husband and Kidlet, and now I'm utterly converted. It's a beautiful, beautiful place.
And even better, I have found that I love and adore being on the water. I could live that way forever! I could run away on a pirate ship with
linaelyn any time, and be perfectly happy! There is no such sensation as rocking on the water all day and all night -- it's the very best way to fall asleep, and to give in to thoughts and reflections. If I concentrate I can still feel the boat moving beneath me.
But I'm in my office and I have to work. Life is just like that. Bwah. I'll run off to my friends list and see what everyone's been up to...
