Just checking in....
September 12th, 2002 09:06 pmLast weekend was wonderful in spite of the nasty cold. Nothing quite like a romantic bed and breakfast inn and a getaway in your own town to push any lingering illness way to the back of the brain. We had a gorgeous room (but heck, any old Victorian room with a king-size bed and lots of pillows and cute lamps looks gorgeous to me) and chocolates and a bottle of wine, and there was a fireplace and a hot tub/jacuzzi out in the garden, and a really delicious breakfast out on a sunlit patio in the morning. We went to the art museum where I discovered a new statue, a really wonderful happy one because it was the Genius of Dance and depicted a perfectly lovely youth just fairly ready to leap off the pedestal with a tambourine in his hand, and it couldn't have looked more like Pippin if it was meant to be. We had chocolate cake for lunch, visited the used book store, and saw "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" which was delightful. And I'm not going to talk about what else we did, but it was a great, great 16th wedding anniversary. Even though my daughter cried at her aunt's house all night both nights and threw up. And I stayed up until 4 a.m. watching the first five episodes of Queer as Folk and fell madly in love with that show. I really do need another addiction, oh yes I do. Sigh.
