I came here through fandom (Lord of the Rings and The Sentinel for the first 18 years, now head over heels for The Untamed/Mo Dao Zu Shi) and stayed to discover a marvelous world of friendship and kinship, warmth and love. I'm 69 and still enjoying a delightful midlife (perhaps later midlife now?) crisis, thanks to fanfiction and very occasional journaling. I know a thing or two about depth and grace and, having been around the proverbial block more than a few times, I'm here to say that life experience does count. That, and a damned good sense of humor.

I'm 37 years married to a good man and have a wonderful daughter. My online name, though LOTR-derived, was chosen because I had been a belly dancer for over 30 years, used to dance with a Polynesian group, and still do international folk dancing and American contra and square dancing now and then. Waltzes, swing, rock 'n roll, you name it, I'll dance it. Except ballet.
